There are some things you can do before your relaxer to help you have a successful relaxer application. Here is my plan for the next week:
- Sunday: Chelate/clarify, reconstruct, deep condition, and air dry
- Monday - Wednesday: Moisturize as usual but avoid scalp
- Thursday: Gently finger part and spray StaSoFro on roots
- Friday: Coat length of hair with Chi Silk Infusion
- Saturday: RELAXER and cut!!!
Who else is getting a relaxer next Saturday?

Hi Ms Kibibi
First of all thank you so much for the info! You have inspired me to FINALLY try self-relaxing. I was wondering, when you texlax do you just apply the product and wash it out or do you smooth/comb through?
Thank you!
I'm scheduled for Fri :) What's StaSoFro? I need to read down to see what's going on with the cut.
...I nominated your blog for a sunshine award (just some fellow blogger support). Feel free to spread the love by going over to my blog, reading the instructions and sharing with your blogger friends :)
I'm getting my relaxer on Saturday as well.. I'm super nervous! I can't wait to see how yours turns out. :)
Hi, I've been reading your blog for a while and I notice you have been able to maintain healthy for a quite a long time. I feel as though, as much as I try, I'm not able to improve the health of my hair. I'm due for a relaxer soon, but I'm nervous about getting one because my edges are thinning. I feel like I'm losing a lot of hair around my edges and I don't know what to do. Can you offer any suggestions? I don't want to go natural, but I also don't want to lose any more hair either.
